Creates New Designation for Individuals Involved in the Workers’
Compensation Industry
Washington, DC - November 2, 2002 –
The National Registry of Workers’ Compensation Specialists
has created a new designation for individuals involved in the workers’
compensation industry, known as the Registered Workers’ Compensation
Specialist or RWCS.
After meeting with employers
and workers’ compensation consultants, the organizers felt
that the time had come to start a professional designation for individuals
involved in the workers’ compensation industry. Everyone who
deals with this significant area of employer liability understands
the importance of working with knowledgeable individuals.”
In order to earn the
RWCS designation, applicants are required to pass a comprehensive
examination written by the International Risk Management Institute,
Inc., a well known research and publishing company focusing on management
and insurance, agree to abide by a strict Code of Ethics and maintain
their knowledge with continuing education.
It is anticipated that
the RWCS designation will be well received by a variety of occupations
such as safety and risk managers, consultants, insurance agents,
attorneys, underwriters, claims examiners, customer service representatives,
and other interested individuals managing workers’ compensation
programs are vital to the success of business.”
