University of Nevada, Las Vegas sponsors RWCS Courses
Las Vegas, NV – September 23, 2005 - The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) held it first Registered Workers’ Compensation Specialist course on May 19th and 20th , 2005.
The 12 hour classroom course, co-sponsored by The National Registry of Workers’ Compensation Specialists and UNLV, provides participants who pass the Registered Workers’ Compensation Specialist (RWCS) examination with both the RWCS designation and a Certificate in Workers’Compensation from UNLV.
Participants may also receive continuing education credits from several professional organizations including: 1.2 CEUs from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Division of Educational Outreach; 12 hours of CE credit with the Nevada Division of Insurance; 12 hours of CLE credit through the Nevada Board of Continuing Legal Education; 12 recertification credit hours towards the PHR and SPHR recertification through the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI); and 2 points toward the Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation and 6 points for the Master Municipal Clerk (MMC) designation of the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC).

Professionals in workers’ compensation now have another means of learning the material.”
Initial instructors of the RWCS classroom course at UNLV include Daniel L. Schwartz, Esq. from the law firm of Santoro, Driggs, Walch, Kearney, Johnson & Thompson; and Dave Oakden, Operations Manager S&C Claims Services, Inc. in Las Vegas, Nevada.
